The Sports Career Forum is an educational and interactive discussion for high school students about the broad field of sports careers, led by a distinguished panels of professionals who currently hold positions throughout the forum’s eight areas of concentration.

Students will all hear from our Keynote Speaker before they break out into Career Path stories and the areas of concentration breakout sessions. During registration, students will prioritize their four favorite topics to hear from a panel of speakers in those fields. Not all four topics are guaranteed but we’ll assign breakout sessions to best meet requests. Lunch is also included in the cafeteria from 12:00PM – 12:50PM.

Mike Missanelli
97.5 The Fanatic
Mike Missanelli is a sports radio host for ESPN affiliate, 97.5 The Fanatic, in Philadelphia.
Missanelli began his career in Bristol, Pennsylvania as a newspaper writer, working at the Philadelphia Inquirer and eventually moved over to radio working on-air at 610 WIP and 93.3 WMMR. In January 2010, he signed a new multi-year deal at ESPN affiliate, 97.5 The Fanatic. Missanelli is also a professor at Saint Joseph’s University.

Vice President of Marketing

Brian Papson joined the Eagles in July 2013 as the Vice President of Marketing. In his role, he oversees all marketing and brand messaging, designing and executing fan engagement programs, enhancing the gameday fan experience, conducting and analyzing research programs, coordination of alumni programs, and managing the special performance groups.

Vince Nicastro has day-to-day oversight of the BIG EAST’s conference operations and business functions including governance, compliance, finance, NCAA and institutional relations, Olympic sports championships, events, communications, marketing, sales, andtelevision and digital administration. Prior to the BIG EAST, Nicastro served for 15 years (2000-2015) as Villanova’s Director of Athletics before being named Associate Director of the Jeffrey Moorad Center for the Study of Sports Law at the Villanova School of Law last June.
Lara Price

Philadelphia 76ers
Lara Price became one of only 18 female Vice Presidents in the NBA when she named the Vice President of Marketing for the 76ers in 1998. After being named the team’s Senior Vice President in 2001, she was promoted to her current position in 2003 and will continue to coordinate the day-to-day activities of the 76ers business operation. In her expanded role, Price will also assist in overseeing the team’s sales and marketing and communications department, which includes public relations, community relations and new media, as well as game entertainment. She also oversees the Sixers television and radio broadcasts.
