Nick Elentrio is willing to sacrifice to achieve his goals. That’s his attitude heading into the Oct. 30 Victory Events Beast National Showcase at Delaware Turf Sports Complex in Frederica, DE.

“I kind of go in knowing I need to work,” said 2023 midfielder from St. Augustine Prep and SouthShore (N.J.). “I am there for business; it doesn’t matter who I am going against, I am going to give it my all and make sure I give 110 percent.”

Elentrio is doing everything he can for gear for the fall tournament and showcase season. His goal is to earn a starting spot at St. Augustine and find a school where he can focus on his academics and get a chance to play.

“I am looking for a school with good academics; I value good grades over lacrosse,” he said. “Athletically, I want to be able to play, not sit the bench. I want to enjoy my time at school.”

Elentrio, who is planning to study Business and Finance in college, is training hard this fall, driving to the Philly suburbs to train with Blue Ox in Berwyn.

“I am working on my shooting on the run, my step-down shot, being faster, being stronger and just working on defensive skills as well,” he said of his Blue Ox training. “Right now we’re working on our offensive skills and during the winter there will be more live stuff. Right now I am focusing on shooting more and making moves for myself so I can help it to translate into games.”

What are his major strengths? “My ability to hustle and get back on D, being able to stay on the the field,” Elentrio said. “I feel I’m good in transition; if something is wrong on the offensive end I will get back on D.”

Elentrio said SouthShore 2023 had a strong summer season and will compete this fall in the Maryland Terp Fall Classic (Nov. 6), Inside Lacrosse Invitational (Nov. 13), Towson Autumn Gold (Nov. 14) and NXT Philly Showcase (Nov. 21).
