Nashville, TN / New Orleans, LA – After a successful 2019 Texas Draw weekend which saw 100 teams descend on Plano, Victory Event Series headed east to host the Southeast Shootout and Big Easy Classic on June 15-16. A combined 70 teams from Louisiana, Florida, Texas, Tennessee, Indiana, Florida and Arkansas competed for tournament championships across a wide variety of divisions.
The weekend began on Friday night with a positional clinic and Big Easy High School All-Star game at the St. Paul’s School in Covington, LA. With NCAA Division I, II, and III coaches on the in attendance, the All-Star game went down to the wire as the Louisiana All-Stars won in overtime, 6-5. Friday night kicked off what would be a great weekend.
Pool play games for the teams began on Saturday morning, and brought a high level of competition. Southeast Shootout hosted both boys and girls divisions at Ted Rhodes Park in the event’s inaugural summer. BEC and SES teams finished their pool games on Sunday morning before turning their attention to playoffs, with the winning teams earning trophies and Victory Event Series Championship hats. FTK Louisiana proved to be the powerhouse of Big Easy, winning all but one division. Up in Nashville, No Excuse Memphis and Nashville squads excelled. In the Girls Varsity division, Brentwood defeated Blue Roses in the championship.
Victory Event Series is excited to continue to grow lacrosse in the Southeast and Texas. This fall, VES will host the Cowboy Cup, a boys and girls tournament, on November 9-10 in Plano, Texas. Over the winter, Victory will provide tournament and recruiting exposure opportunities at the Best of Texas (December 14-15 in Cypress, TX) and Little Rock Lax Fest (February 15-16 in North Little Rock, AR).
Victory Event Series invites teams to compete at BOTH the 2020 Big Easy Classic AND Southeast Shootout! Big Easy Classic will move to the weekend of May 30-31 at Pelican Park, and Southeast Shootout will return to Nashville on June 13-14. Victory’s full summer 2020 southern schedule is below:
