• Gearing Up for Texas Draw

    The Texas Draw lacrosse tournament is set to kick off this coming weekend, June 10-11th! The tournament returns to Russell Creek Park in the beautiful city of Plano, TX for another excellent year of elite lacrosse competition. This year, the tournament features over 95 teams from across the south central United States, encompassing 13 divisions that range from elementary school players to the elite athletes of the high school age groups.

    With multiple retailers and equipment suppliers attending the event, Texas Draw is going to be a hot spot for lacrosse players of all ages.  Whether it’s a new lacrosse stick, equipment for all age groups, or that stylish t-shirt of the summer, the Texas Draw vendor village has anything a player, parent, or spectator needs.

    In addition to a high-quality vendor village, the recent partnership of the Victory Event Series-Texas Draw lacrosse tournament and Hub Streat culinary entertainment center has sparked excitement for tournament attendees. With a wide variety of food and drink options like custom burgers, fresh wood-fired pizzas, ample varieties of taco meats and flavors, slow roasted meats, chickens, sandwiches and a large selection of craft beers, ciders, and signature cocktails and wines; Hub Streat is sure to please any taste in food from any age group.

    Texas Draw will also feature highly experienced trainers from the Baylor Scott and White Health System, tending to any player, parent, or spectator in need of assistance. In addition to looking after attendees, there will be a free concussion clinic on the eve of the Texas Draw, June 9th, at the Prestonwood Christian Academy stadium in Plano, TX at 6:15pm. The presentation will be led by Dr. Marie Dahdah, PhD, Neuropsychologist and Clinical Staff at The Baylor Scott & White Medical Center-Plano Center of Medical Psychology. Topics covered will be Concussion Injuries, Treatment, Return to Play Criteria and Prevention of Secondary Occurrence. We encourage players, parents, and coaches to attend and receive more information on an injury that is becoming increasingly common in the sport of lacrosse.

    The Texas Draw began in 2012 and in its 6th year, has grown into an elite summer staple. This event delivers the whole package including Friday Night’s clinic featuring 6 Division 1 coaches who will also coach both All-Star games (2021 & High School), to a free concussion clinic featuring experts in the field of traumatic brain injuries, to collegiate coaches working as field coordinators and a stocked vendor village. “We cannot wait to get down to Plano  and host all these competitive teams, Texas Draw is fixing up to be one of the most popular events on the summer circuit this year!” says Jeff Long, CEO of the Victory Event Series.
