• Cowboy Cup Tournament Draws 108 Boys & Girls Teams; Six States Represented in Schedule Release

    Thornton, PA (November 5, 2018) – This weekend the Cowboy Cup returns to Plano, Texas for what promises to be an exciting weekend of lacrosse.  A fall mainstay at Russell Creek Park, the Cowboy Cup is a boys and girls tournament for teams from third grade up through collegiate play.

    The tournament is comprised of club, school, and MCLA teams from Arkansas, Colorado, Louisiana, Missouri, Oklahoma and of course Texas.  The girl’s tournament has doubled in size this year and competition within all age brackets will not disappoint!

    The event features fully certified officials, field coordinators, athletic trainers from Baylor Scott & White SportsCare. Additionally, high school boys teams will receive complimentary game film as a result of Victory Event Series’ relationship with NextPro. And sidelines will be fully stocked with Gatorade to ensure Cowboy Cup athletes remain hydrated throughout the weekend.

    The Cowboy Cup will also include numerous apparel vendors, as well as food and drink concessions and bathrooms throughout the park.

    “Since launching the Cowboy Cup in 2014, every year we try to find ways to improve this event” said Scott Ely, Vice President of Operations “With a competitive MCLA division featuring both returning finalists, TCU and last year’s Champ, Texas State, there are sure to be fireworks form MCLA on down to our youth teams. In addition, we have another 48 high school teams between Division I, II and JV preparing for spring ball – a great opportunity for our teams to learn and grow together this fall.”

    To make the tournament as spectator friendly as possible, all pools, standings, brackets, game times, scores and more are instantaneously accessible through the Tourney Machine mobile app, available on Android and iOS devices. All teams are guaranteed four games with the top teams advancing to the championship bracket.  All games will be played on Saturday Nov 10th and Sunday Nov 11th, 2018.
